Page administration

The Page detail window can either be accessed by selecting a Page in the tree window of the Page administration or by clicking on the name of a Page when a reference to a Page is displayed (e.g. in the list of recent changes on yeager's home screen).

Template panel
Navigation panel
Status panel
On this tab the configuration of a Page's appearance is displayed:

Templates are usually, but not necessarily, HTML files which define the layout and design of a Page (see Templates).

The selected navigation defines in which navigation the Page is part of (e.g. main men or meta menu). Pages without a navigation assigned are considered hidden and will not be accessible through your website's menu.

In order to easily identify hidden Pages (Pages without an assigned navigation) they are always displayed with a dark grey page symbol. Pages which have a navigation assigned are displayed with a white page symbol.

The activity status of a Page specifies whether it should be accessible at all. Inactive Page versions can not be viewed - they are basically offline and only accessible through yeager's user interface. The activity status of a Page's working copy is indicated by a little x on it's icon.

  • change the Template
  • change the navigation
  • remove the navigation (set Page to hidden)
  • activate or deactivate a Page

List of outgoing links
List of incoming links
This tab lists all incoming and outgoing links of a Page: Incoming links are objects in which a Page is used or linked in. Outgoing links are all objects which are used or linked on a Page.

Note that only the content of published versions of objects is considered here. So in case an object (e.g. a Content Block) contains a link, but the link has only recently been added in its current working copy, that is yet to be approved, this particular link would not show up here. See Publishing and Versioning for more information.

This tab displays a history of all changes and versions of a Page. The list may show two different types of entries:
Version log entries
These are log entries related to a version change, approval, publishing process or roll-back. These items have a slight darker background color and the actions are displayed in bold text. Each entry is associated with exactly one version. When hovering the entry you can preview or restore that version by making use of the action buttons.
Entries related to changes of a specific version.

For a detailed description of yeager's versioning concept see Versioning.

Commenting status
List of Comments
This tab shows a list of all Comments which have been submitted on a Page.
Comments have one of three stati:

  • OK - The default status of a Comment, usually used for Comments that passed quality control
  • Unapproved - Depending on the specific application built, this status is usually used to hide a Comment until further notice (that is until its status is changed by an administrator to either "OK" or "Spam"). Refer to your system administrator for more detailed information on how your system is set up.
  • Spam - Depending on the specific application built, this status is usually used to permanently hide a Comment. Refer to your system administrator for detailed information on how your system is set up.
